An Intensive and Comprehensive Beekeeping Course
This comprehensive beekeeping course will provide you with the knowledge and know-how to begin keeping bees. Whether it’s two hives in your backyard or a 50 hive semi-commercial operation, this course is designed to set you up for success with your new venture! Our course is made up of three classroom based days which cover everything from Bee Biology and brood nest management, to disease prevention and honey extraction.
Our Complete Beekeeping Courses run on Saturday/Sunday from 9am-5pm.
**Also included in this course are three additional workshops. Revive the Hive, Bee Disease Free and No Freeze Bees. These courses are offered at different times of year and provide you seasonal knowledge for continued health of your colonies. These courses arAs part of your Complete Beekeeping Course you can attend our 3 supplemental workshops for no additional cost. These three workshops round out your beekeeping knowledge and help ensure you’re prepared throughout the beekeeping calendar.
Revive the Hive: Learn how to assess an overwintered colony, what to do with dead-outs, and how to care for the survivors. This spring check-up includes cleaning, feeding, medicating, swarm prevention, and preparing for the summer honey flow.
Bee Disease Free: Learn how to assess their hives for disease and for pests. This summer lesson includes hive maintenance during the honey flow, removing honey from the hive, honey extracting and storage, checking for disease and for pests, when to treat, and how to prepare the colonies for the fall wind down.
No Freeze Bees: Learn how to prepare your colony for winter survival. This Fall includes; what to do immediately after the last honey pull, supplemental feeding, winter wraps, and winter maintenance tasks.
Post Course Support
Along with the additional courses graduates can access our Facebook group where you can converse with others who have taken our beekeeping course as well as your instructor. This is a great place to ask any questions or ask for help, It’s even a great place to show off how much honey your hives produced!
