Welcome to Honeybee Centre! A family-run honey shop and beekeeping farm in Surrey, BC.  We are actively seeking a friendly and outgoing Retail Associate to join our team. If you are passionate about honey, sustainable beekeeping, and providing exceptional customer service, this may be the perfect job for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and engage with customers, providing them with a warm and informative shopping experience.
  • Assist customers in selecting and purchasing honey products, beeswax candles, and other related items.
  • Educate customers about our sustainable beekeeping practices and the importance of honeybees in our ecosystem.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including merchandising, restocking shelves, and managing inventory.
  • Operate the cash register and process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide support with farm activities, such as educational events and presentations. (Training will be provided).
  • Assist with packing and shipping honey products for online and wholesale orders.
  • Participate in special events and promotions, such as farmers’ markets and community outreach programs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and passion for honey, bees, and sustainable beekeeping practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and work in outdoor farm environments.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional farm-related activities.

Apiary Technician

Location: Surrey, BC

Honeybee Honey Farm is seeking 8 Apiary Technicians, (NOC84120) for full time (40+hrs/wk) employment ($17.44-$21.88) from January 15, 2024 – January 15, 2026.  Must have a minimum of 3 years experience from working fulltime on a Canadian style commercial apiary in the min. capacity of Apiary Assistant or General Farm Worker.  Duties include caring for Honeybees in the appropriate manner, coordinating the production of replacement bees & equipment; recognizing, reporting, monitoring hive health issues and applying appropriate treatment/ controls; harvest honey, pollen and bees wax; supervise small teams of workers; operate and maintain apiary equipment (including forklifts, pumps, honey extractors); conduct bee yard maintenance.  All applicants must be in good physical condition and able to work in a team environment.  A valid driver’s license may be required for some of the Apiary Technician positions.  Positions do require some evening, night and weekend work.  Apiary Technicians will be relocated to Alberta for the summer months.
