Honeybee Centre

You can’t spell birthday without a ‘Bee’! Honeybee Centre’s birthdays are the best around. Bees, bugs, games, activities (and a little learning, too!) are all invited to our parties.

We start with an interactive presentation with tasting, smelling & touching. We’ll play bee themed games, do bee activities and learn about the fun and exciting world inside the hive.

During summer months, we’ll do a beekeeping demonstration and our lucky birthday child can dress up in a beekeeping suit and work alongside while all their friends watch from behind glass.

Then we’ll head on over to our party room for the craft of your choice, foods, cake & presents. After, we’ll start our adventure learning about bugs and arachnids.

Touch preserved insects and then go on a scavenger hunt in the Bug Lab. Live tarantulas, scorpions, crickets, centipedes, millipedes, and much more are on display to investigate and observe.

(Prices do not include HST. $100 deposit required upon booking)

$169 for the first 10 children, including the birthday child (parents free!)

$9 for each additional child

$30 for each additional ½ H to rent the party room after the 2 H party is over

Craft Options: Beeswax Candle Making, Bug Catcher, Mason Bee House Building (early spring), Dragonfly Ornament, Dream Catcher

$100 Deposit is refundable up to two weeks prior to the presentation. Cancellations less than two weeks in advance forfeit the deposit.

Extras

NEW! Honey Extraction Activity!

A great option for the fall months when the weather is too cold for the beekeeping demonstration is our Honey Extraction activity. Children will each have the opportunity to get their hands sticky and extract their own honey! Turn the crank on our honey extractor and watch the honey drip down into the reserve. After everyone has spun the extractor and all the honey is out of the frame, everyone will get a chance to sample the product of their delicious work. The birthday child will go home with a jar of their very own freshly extracted birthday honey! Cost: $50
