The Tour
Our presentations are highly experiential and great fun for the group members.
|
|
- See a working honeybee colony. You will watch bees at work in a large glass observation hive in a completely safe environment.
- Observe and identify the types of bees, bee dances, elements of the hive and honeybee products.
- Watch a beekeeper open and manipulate a honeybee colony in our outdoor bee yard, from a metre away yet safely behind a protective glass wall.
- Learn about honeybee biology, honeybee social structure, beekeeping and honeybee products in a classroom multi-media environment.
- Taste several varieties of honey and sample bee pollen.
- Handle beekeeping equipment and dress up like a beekeeper.
- Examine a bee under a microscope
