John Gibeau, Honeybee Centre -
The largest beekeeping association in the province is the British Columbia Honey Producers (BCHPA). They have over 400 active members, and meet twice each year to discuss the many issues that affect beekeepers, such as diseases and pests, honey production, new trends, and government regulations.
The most recent meeting was on March 15 and 16 in Kamloops. During that meeting, Honeybee Centre made a presentation on Bee World Project that was very well received. The next meeting is the BCHPA AGM on October 25-27, 2013 in Kelowna. Visit the BCHPA website www.bcbeekeepers.com for details.
